What makes a jazz guitarist great and why do we love the great jazz guitarists of the past? Beginning on the south side of the border and making our way up to our northern home, we will pay a historical visit to six of the most influential jazz guitarists of the past century and discover just what made them so great.

Canadian guitarist Joel Untinen recently completed his Master of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance at New York Univerisity. His debut album, Facing Paradise, was released in 2021 and features his trio from NYC. Originally from Calgary, Joel is living and working in Montreal.
