Nica’s Circle is $100 per year, or $175 for a household of up to four, and runs from August 1 to July 31. Memberships can renew automatically. Members receive 48 hours early access to ticket sales for regular BJP season concerts (first come, first booked, limit of four advance tickets). Nica's Circle fees are not eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Donor Circles go a step further, and every level receives a charitable tax receipt: Artist’s Circle at $250, Patron’s Circle at $500, and Champion’s Circle at $1,000 and up. Donations are made through our donor page.
Kathleen Annie Pannonica Rothschild – “Nica,” to her friends – was a patron and friend to some of New York’s finest jazz musicians. Nicknamed the Jazz Baroness, Nica passionately and practically supported musicians by driving performers to gigs in her Bentley, hosting jam sessions in her hotel room, buying groceries, and retrieving pawned instruments.
Your contribution to Nica’s Circle helps the BJP Music Foundation pay fair performance fees, care for the musicians who come to Calgary, and build a sustainable future for exceptional jazz in our community. We think Nica would like that. In return, you will receive 48 hours early access to our ticket sales.
Nica’s Circle is $100 per year, runs from August 1 to July 31, and can be automatically renewed. A new family rate of $175 is also available for a household of up to four people. Neither the individual nor family Circle fee is eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Those who wish to make a charitable contribution may do so from our donor page on the website. Our giving circle levels begin at $250, with additional opportunities at $500 and $1,000+ and will be eligible for a tax receipt, as applicable under Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
