Eight musicians, huh?  That was our first reaction as we pondered how to bring the energy and talent of the Jacob Do octet to BJP.  Well,  have no fear!  We aren’t going to cram them into the living room.  Join us at Festival Hall in Inglewood as we present some of the hottest young artist on the Canadian jazz scene!

The Jacob Do octet is an Alberta-based jazz ensemble that has garnered a well-earned reputation for presenting complex arrangements with emotional depth and skillful improvisation.  They draw inspiration from chamber jazz and contemporary big band traditions.  The octet sold out a debut performance at Edmonton’s Yardbird Suite in March 2024 and released their debut EP, “Maybe”, in May 2025.  The future of jazz is in good hands!
