Montreal drummer, Valérie Lacombe, joins with outstanding Alberta artists to present music from her newly-released album, "State of Garden and Shadow”.  The music grew organically during Val’s graduate studies at McGill University;  she sees gardening-- the process of cultivation and grown-- as a metaphor for the personal development and artistic evolution represented in her original compositions.  Expect a strong swing feeling, melodic freedom in the drums and harmonically dense saxophone and trumpet playing in this cordless quartet.  This is BJP’s last concert of this season before we head into the summer hiatus so look forward to seeing you!
